The popularisation of the hand-turned street organ in England owes much to Paul McCarthy.  He was the first organ builder to offer a very basic 20-note 20-pipe organ with or without a case, for a rock-bottom price.  For the first time, the average person could afford to own a mechanical organ.
Paul McCarthy has gone on to produce much larger 20-note book playing organs with multiple registers. He has also produced a 26-note roll playing organ. His latest model is the 16-note 'Babe' organ which plays narrow cardboard book music.
