| For Sale: 1937 Meccano Outfit No. 9 in blue/gold in the original playworn cabinet with card lid and lift out tray. The outfit has been checked and is parts complete. Where the parts were worn, we have replaced them where possible with correct parts to create a good and presentable outfit. Most of the parts (with the exception of 6, 5 and 4 hole strips) are in good condition, unusual for a outfit in this type. The label fixed to the top of the lid shows a '2' with remnants of the '9' that was overlaid in the factory at the time of production. I suspect that Binns Road were simply using the labels they had in stock and adjusting them accordingly. The cabinet has age and wear but is complete with all the lid edges. The contents are 99% new unused reproduction parts comprising all Outfit 10 parts and over 1000 other new parts, including a geared roller bearing, standard and non-standard gears, worms, brass parts, cone pulleys, and specials such as flywheel hubs and threaded spokes. The parts are contained in two exact replica 1970s 4-drawer cabinets in oak veneer with solid oak drawer fronts. One cabinet has a modified top drawer for the geared roller bearing (which won’t fit in the original), but also has a spare drawer of the correct pattern if required. | For Sale: This Meccano was brought by my late father back in the 1980s when he retired. Going by what I can see I think he bought set 9 and then spent a lot of money upgrading to set 10 and beyond. I have price and parts list from that time which confirm set 10 came with 3170 parts and this set sits at 4015 parts. It has been stored in a bedroom cupboard and is in new condition other than a few parts he used to make a Ferris wheel. There is a box with a drawer holding all the small parts along with gears, rods, nuts and bolts, washers, spanners. Also as you can see on picture loads of red and green plates. There are what I would call tractor wheels and tyres which are feeling a bit hard. As for condition I would say 75% is good and the rest is either painted black or has slight rust on them. | For Sale: Meccano sets 1, 2, 3 plus additional parts all contained in a 4-layer, compartmentalised box along with a built motorised rotating crane. The entire set belonged to my late father-in-law and some may have been from the early days of Meccano but I can’t tell from the documentation I have. There are the books for sets 1, 2 and 3 along with 2 itemised invoices of additional purchased items from the mid 1980s when the crane was built. The set was built and stored in his workshop so the built crane is a little dirty but there are parts in the box trays which are in better order. The crane rotates freely on the base but the raising and lowering of the hook needs some work as the string has broken. We haven’t tried the motor (it is a Triang) and it may need some fettling too. I can provide further details and pictures if required. I’m open to offers. SOLD |

This is a genuine factory-built Dealer Display Model of the Blackpool Tower. Finished in the yellow, silver and black colour scheme of the mid 1960s. It is not in pristine condition - some of the silver has been over painted during its long life - but despite this it seems to be complete and it still works as it should. The mains motor drives a Meccano built reversing gearbox which alternately raises and lowers the lifts. The model would exhibit or display as it is, or would make an excellent restoration project. The contents have never been unstrung from its original packing at Binns Road, Liverpool, and hence are unused. Despite having been in storage for over sixty years, the aarondition of the parts is remarkable. The carton lid, however, has suffered some storage damage over the decades, having lost one long side and parts of two other sides. The original instructions books (not photocopies) are present, as are the original hanks of cord, wooden-handled long screwdriver and original unopened small parts tins. This is one of the most complex dealer display models with more features than normally found in such models. This model is fully equipped with steering, brakes, clutch, gear-box and differential mechanism. The gear box gives three forward and one reverse speed. The model has independently sprung wheels.
